Imovane is a prescription-only medication with zopiclone as its active pharmaceutical ingredient. It is a member of the hypnotic drug subclass. All types of insomnia can be treated temporarily with imovane (zopiclone).
For the short-term therapy and symptomatic alleviation of insomnia marked by trouble falling asleep, frequent nocturnal awakenings, and/or early morning awakenings, zopiclone (Imovane) is suggested.
Generally, zopiclone treatments shouldn’t go longer than 7 to 10 days straight. Use for more than two to three weeks in a row necessitates a thorough reevaluation of the patient. Only short-term (7–10 day) prescriptions for zopiclone should be written, and no more than a month’s worth should be prescribed at a time.
Imovane (zopiclone) tablet activity is a result of its strong affinity for GABA macromolecular complex central receptors that regulate the opening of chloride channels. The main effects are sedative, hypnotic, anxiolytic, and anticonvulsant, and they are mainly caused by increased GABA activity in the brain.
Imovane should not be taken with opioids as this may result in drowsiness, breathing difficulties, a coma, or even death. It is not permitted to take Zopiclone and opioids together.
If you are taking any of the following medications, you must inform your doctor or pharmacist before taking the Imovane (Zopiclone) tablet:
Drugs that intensify the sedative effects of Imovane (zopiclone) tablet include antipsychotics, antidepressants, antiepileptics, anesthetics, anxiolytics, sedatives, and antihistamines.
